What’s Generation Green all about?

Green issues are becoming ever more urgent and real in today’s world. Everybody is looking at each other (governments, companies and brands included) to see what can be done to preserve the planet for the future.
As the UK’s largest energy company, we at British Gas are very aware of our responsibility to help create an energy efficient Britain. And that’s the idea behind Generation Green.
Generation Green was launched in May 2008. Its aim is to bring together schools, children, their family and friends to create a greener future. If we all work together to adopt ‘greener’ behaviour, we have a real chance to achieve long-lasting change.
Gearóid Lane, Managing Director, British Gas New Energy, said "Our campaign celebrates the role of the classroom in improving the nation's green attitudes and behaviour en masse. While big names in cinema, politics and music raise awareness via the media, teachers can make an incomparable difference via the whiteboard."
Everyone can get involved – pupils, teachers, family and friends!
By completing green activities schools are rewarded with leaves to get rewards.
