For schools
Generation Green brings together schools, children, their family and friends to help them to live a greener life. Its aim is to encourage ‘greener’ behaviour and show that by working together we have the capacity to effect long-lasting change.
Free educational resources
Download over thirty free lesson and assembly plans designed to complement the KS1, 2 & 3 Curriculum to increase your pupils’ understanding of environmental issues, their school’s carbon footprint and how they can help to reduce it. You’ll also earn 100 leaves for your school.
There are games to play too!
Play the Big Green Quiz and earn up to 5% of your leaf target - a great way to test pupils’ knowledge on a range of green topics such as climate change, recycling and energy waste.
Playing the Top Trumps can educate pupils on energy saving measures and how effective they are.
The Eco-Ranger games can help educate pupils on performing green actions, for example, recycling and turning switches off standby. By signing up as an Eco-Ranger pupils earn five leaves for their school and the top five players each month earn 100 leaves.
Get parents and friends involved too
Send out a letter (based on the easily downloadable template) and ask parents to complete an Energy Savers Report. They can learn how to be more energy efficient, help save money on household bills and earn leaves for your school too.
