Earn leaves with recycool

Generation Green has teamed up with Recycool to bring you a new way to earn Leaves for your school.

Through Recycool you can donate your old mobile phones and printer cartridges to be recycled, depending on their condition they’ll be reused or the scrap parts will be recycled. You can even involve the community in this activity to help you achieve your leaf goal, there are letters, posters and envelopes that you can download from this page to help get everyone involved.

As well as earning leaves, through Recycool, the school will also earn cash for every item donated. Go to the Recycool website to download the value of each phone.

How it works

1) Register with Recycool – Go to the Recycool website and register your school.

2) Begin collecting – Let everyone know that you’re collecting old mobile phones and printer cartridges and that their support will help the school to get green rewards as well as earn cash! Here are some ideas to help:

  • Why not nominate a contact in the school to be responsible for collecting the phones and cartridges
  • Send a letter or email to the parents
  • Put up posters letting everyone know how to get involved
  • Request freepost envelopes from the Recycool site and distribute to parents

3) Send in your phones – you can send them in using the freepost envelope or if you’ve managed to collect lots of phones arrange a collection by calling 0845 1 30 20 50 or going to the Recycool website

4) Earn your leaves – Your school account will be automatically credited with leaves around two weeks after you send in the phones and printer cartridges. Don’t forget your Recycool account will be credited with cash too!
