The Power of The Sun

The aim of this lesson is to introduce 5-7 year olds to the power of the Sun and how its heat and light can be harnessed to make energy.

Firstly, pupils will think about the qualities of the Sun. Then, the class will carry out a simple experiment which demonstrates the Sun’s ability to heat water. Finally, children will learn about solar panels and how they create electricity.
