Greenhouse gases

This lesson is one in a series that prepares students for an energy audit of their school.

During this lesson students consider the rise in the world population, its effect on energy demands and the environmental implication of these effects. Students will consider ways of reducing this environmental impact by reducing energy consumption within their school.

Learning objectives

  • To consider global warming issues around the world and the impact on the environment.
  • To consider ways in which the school community can help reduce the amount of energy consumed by the school.
  • To consider ways of scientifically measuring this energy saving.
