Centrica Kiteival Blackpool – 6-8 October 2011

As part of our sponsorship of British Kitesurfing, British Gas, part of Centrica, are inviting Generation Green Schools to attend Centrica Kiteival Blackpool on any of the three days (6-8 October), with the option of a free kitesurfing lesson from an expert kitesurfer! Lessons will take place on all 3 days in morning and afternoon sessions (weather dependent!).

Centrica is harnessing the power of the wind to help to secure the UK’s future energy needs by investing billions in wind farms. At the Centrica Kiteval, your pupils will get the chance to see just how powerful the wind is as the top riders harness the power of the wind to propel them along the beach in an acrobatic fashion.

“Our Renewables business is all about harnessing the wind to generate energy, so the kitesurf festival fits well with learning about this” said David Atkinson, public affairs manager.

The three-day kitesurf festival - Centrica Kiteival Blackpool - will run from 6-8 October 2011 at Little Bispham beach, Cleveleys.

If you are interested in attending a morning or afternoon kitesurf session please contact us by email at generationgreen@mrm.co.uk by the end of Wednesday 5 October. We will need to know your School, how many pupils you would like to attend and on which date. Places are limited for Kitesurf lessons and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
