Workshop 2: Renew - Generation Green

To help save the environment, we need to put our energy into renewables. In this workshop, the Think Tankers come up with some ideas for making better use of renewable energy, as well as easy ways we can save energy at home.

Here are all the eco-awesome ideas our Think Tankers came up with to help us save energy, use more renewables and reduce climate change. These thoughts and proposals will form an important part of the Green Manifesto.

Gordon Brown should set an example to world leaders and commit to actions, not just words, at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit in December
Power events with renewable energy i.e. music festivals, sporting events and the Copenhagen summit
Manufacturers should make more wind-up equipment Phase out the ‘stand-by’ button to cut energy use in homes
Rainwater tanks should be introduced for use in toilets and outdoor taps
Three trees should be planted for every tree that is cut down
A ‘Green Police Force’ should be created to give out rewards for green behaviour and penalties for non-green actions
Encourage ‘Green Eco Councils’ in school to help kids share their green ideas and practices
