The LEAF is Nissan’s spark of inspiration – it’s the world’s first affordable 100% electric car, and the Assembly uses Nissan LEAF to help you introduce Electric Vehicles (EVs) to your pupils. Using exciting images and an engaging animation, you can explore why EVs can be better for the environment and discover what makes them different from petrol or diesel cars. Pupils get to be bright sparks themselves, as they share ideas about other ways to reduce the impact of cars in your community, putting the potential of EVs into a wider context. Two optional follow-up lessons help pupils explore how their families use cars, how this affects your community, and how EVs might make a contribution towards a less polluted and more sustainable community. The lessons work in series or can be used independently. The Assembly and lessons support elements of Maths, Science, Geography, Citizenship, PSHE and your teaching of sustainability. Brought to you from a partnership between British Gas and Nissan to create a sustainable future.
