Your pupils are about to embark on an amazing energy adventure!

They’ll journey with Wilbur the penguin, learning about fossil fuels, renewable energy and the importance of saving energy, as well as discovering how smart meters — a new technology being installed in British homes — can help families become more energy efficient. This lesson will also prepare pupils to enter the Smarter Power Competition.

  • Understand what smart technology is and how it can help save people energy

  • Look at examples of smart technology

  • Understand what smart meters do and their benefits

  • Apply learning to draw a comic strip of their energy saving day using a smart energy monitor!
